You had us at roasted broccoli. But adding tahini, fresh lemon, and red pepper??? Wow. Wow. Wow. This side veg is a good'un.

Instructions

  1. Mash the garlic clove to a purée with a generous pinch of salt. Whisk in the sesame tahini. Whisk in the lemon juice, a little at a time. The mixture will stiffen up. Whisk in up to ⅓ cup water, until the sauce is runny. Taste and adjust salt. 

  2. Heat the oven to 450 degrees F / 232 C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the broccoli crowns into small pieces (as you desire). Peel the hard skin off any large pieces of stem, chop then toss together with the florets in the olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place on the baking sheet in an even layer. Roast until nicely browned, stirring and flipping the large slices over after 8 minutes, roasting about 15 minutes total. Remove from the oven and transfer to plates. Drizzle on the tahini sauce and serve.
